Fun and frollicks at Northampton. Beth Applebey

Well, last Sunday we all got up at the ungodly hour of 6am, yes, 6am ("I've never been up at 6am, what happens?") in order to travel to a new venue in Northampton. I have to say, apart from the extensive amount of road-kill, it was a very pretty ride.

That really is all I have to say about the day! The show was a non-starter, and the only punters were people from other stalls. I don't know if some naughty sign stealing pixies had been out in the night, or the organisers of the event had forgot to advertise anywhere, but hardly anyone showed up & all the stall holders (not just Sent-2-Coventry) went home early. Having said that, we did sell some stuff and in true Sent-2-Coventry spirit, had lots of fun, especially when I got my new range of Monkey Cushions out!

Busy Busy Busy! Beth's Blog

Hello! I'm sensing this blog may now be shorter than originally intended, as I've just spent the last hour typing it out, only to lose it due to the computer crashing before I'd saved it!

So, here we go again... We have all been pretty busy at Sent 2 Coventry, getting ourselves ready for the festy season. There's been a lot of making, painting, drawing, meeting, arguing and hugging going on, but we're nearly there now!

EMMA O'BRIEN has been working on some soft sculpture props for a film, something to do with a slit eyeball & a hand that secretes worms, it all sounded a bit disgusting so I blocked some of it out! I'll keep you informed though.

The clever lady is also running the Dr. Sketchy's Anti Art School, (which is like an art session, but with wine & cake- what more could you want?)where I will be modelling as the Grunge Girl. Come and join us, draw me, drink the wine, eat the yummies and meet some lovely people. It's at the Lock Gallery on Friday 23rd April. Contact Emma O'Brien for more details.

Emma is also organising an open exhibition, "Send Me A Monster" where you can send in a monster in any medium to be exhibited in The Lock Gallery. These must be available to sell, and the show is in May. Once again, contact Emma O'Brien if you want to enter, or you want to attend.

Emma Gluyas has been preparing for the monster exhibition, with a Monster Painting. I'll let you have a little sneak preview..

That's all you're getting for now, but I can assure you, its quite scary and very dramatic. Emma is also currently working on T Shirt and hand bag designs, which are hand painted, and also her new collection of beautiful paintings.

I MYSELF have been really busy, working day and night to get this website up and running, so thanks to all the Sent 2 Cov-ers for sending me their pics repeatedly when I lost them, putting up with my tantrums (well, we are artists, don't you know) and generally giving me their info as and when I need it... My leg is finally out of plaster, after foolishly breaking it in January (before you ask, yes, and, yes!) so I will soon be able to get on with making my jewellery, and actually attending some shows (which I've missed out on quite a bit). As you've read above, I'll be modelling again for Dr. Sketchy's so come down and see us there, its great fun..
I've also been working on a logo for the fantastic band "The Sizzling Gypsies" Here's the first logo, but we will be making some alterations to it.
I’ve also been doing some clay sculpting for the Monster Exhibition. Clay is a new media for me, and I am finding it pretty good fun to work with.

Sent 2 Coventry attended the Spring Craft Fair at Coventry Transport Museum last month (apart from myself, with my injury) and everyone did magnificently, so well done to you girlies!
